Visit the Garden of Gethsemane, Golgotha and Caiaphas’ house. Stand on the ruins of Jericho and scale the heights of Fortress Masada. Relax at the waterfront Ron Beach Hotel, sail on lake Galilee and visit Capernaum, Korazin and Bethsaida among many others.

Professor Julian Evans OBE
Julian Evans is a forest scientist, and currently a Forestry Commissioner, who became a Christian in his early 20s. He is a member of an FIEC church in Alton and was on the board of Tearfund for many years. He has written several books including God’s Trees - trees, forests and wood in the Bible (DayOne). He is married to Margaret and has three grown-up sons and three granddaughters.
There is an optional stay with no planned excursions at the Seasons Hotel in Netanya for an extra 4 nights at £495 per person. Netanya is now known as Israel’s French Rivera partly due to its wonderful Mediterranean sandy beaches. Returning on Tuesday 16th May.
Day 1 - Tuesday
Early flight from Luton to Tel Aviv where we will be met and transferred by air-conditioned coach to the Grand Court Hotel in Jerusalem.
Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 2 - Wednesday
We visit the Shrine of the Book and the WW2 cemetery in Jerusalem. Drive to the top of the Mount of Olives and walk down the Palm Sunday Road to Dominus Flevit recalling Jesus weeping over Jerusalem, and also understand the significance of burial in a Jewish context. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane, before walking through the Western Wall Tunnel (Kotel) and hear about the significance and location of the Temple. Coming out onto the Via Dolorosa, the coach picks us up below the Lion Gate (St. Stephen’s Gate). Drive to St Peter in Gallicantu which we will visit seeing “Caiaphas’ house” and the prison cell - and remembering Peter’s denial of Jesus.
Lunch outside the city. Drive to the Garden Tomb and share in the Lord’s Table together, then a brief time to to learn about the trees and shrubs, rest and/or visit the shop.
Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 3 - Thursday
Go up onto the Temple Mount area and gain an understanding of the Biblical history of Moriah, and Araunah’s threshing floor and Jesus’ many
visits to this incredible place. Walking tour of the Old City from the Pools of Bethesda – understanding John 5. Visit the Burnt House, Roman Pavement / Lithostratos, Herod’s Cistern, and Ecce Homo.
Visit the Jewish Quarter, see Nehemiah’s broad wall.
Lunch near the Cardo.
Walk through the Dung Gate down to the City of David archaeological centre and see the 3D presentation of the history of David’s city. We then make our way down noting the importance of recent archaeological discoveries, arriving at Warren’s Shaft and the entrance to Hezekiah’s tunnel. Walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel (appropriately prepared with torches and water shoes) to the Pool of Siloam or a dry walk through an older Canaanite tunnel. Visit the Herodian Street.
Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 4 - Friday
Visit Jerusalem Botanic Gardens and the special Kew Biblical trail. Return via the Valley of Elah. Continue to Bethlehem, visiting the Shepherds fields.

Day 5 - Saturday
An early drive south through the Judean Hills past the Inn Of The Good Samaritan to Masada the historic site of Jewish last stand against the Romans. Then to Qumran for lunch before visiting the ruins to understand the biblical significance of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Visit En Gedi National Park to see the waterfalls, then onto The Dead Sea with an opportunity to float in the world’s lowest sea, 423m below sea level. Travel to Bethabara, the site where Jesus was baptised.

Day 6 - Sunday
Morning Service at the Hotel.
Rest of the morning free.
Afternoon join us for an optional walk. Evening service at the hotel.

Day 7 - Monday
Early drive to visit the site of Old Testament Jericho, ‘Zaccheus’s’ sycamore-fig tree, and also Elisha’s spring. Then travel up through the Jordan Valley to Samaria.
Continue to Beth Shean where the Philistines hung the bodies of King Saul and his sons on the city walls, stopping for lunch at an appropriate place. Visit Gideon’s spring at the foot of Mount Gilboa.
Overnight at the Ron Beach Hotel in Tiberius on the shores of Lake Galilee.
Day 8 - Tuesday
Today we will gain an overview of the northern towns and Jesus’ ministry within the ‘gospel triangle’ of Capernaum-Korazin-Bethsaida, also noting the significance of the Horns of Hattin. We begin with an early morning sail on the Sea of Galilee, observing the geography of the lake. Then visit Nof Ginossar to see the Galilee Boat, before visiting Magdala en route to Capernaum to see the significance of the archaeological remains there and of particular interest the Via Maris milestone. We will stop for lunch near the Lake.
Drive to Korazin to see the ruins, noting the importance of the Mikveh. Then on to visit St Peter’s Primacy / Tabgha where the Lord Jesus met with his disciples by the shore. Travel to the Mount of Beatitudes for a visit and to consider the importance of the Sermon on the Mount.
Dinner and overnight in Tiberius.
Day 9 - Wednesday
Drive to Tel Dan Nature Reserve, seeing Mount Hermon in the distance. We walk through the park, stand under the ‘great spreading tree’, to the site of the altar which gives background to the idolatry at Dan in Biblical history. Then onto the ancient gate of Tel Dan where we will understand the structure and significance of the ‘Gate’ of the city in those days. Visit Caesarea Philippi (Banyas) gaining some background in Greek mythology, and the significance of “Gates of Hell” and Peter’s confession of Jesus in context. Travel back from the other side of Lake Galilee to visit Kursi and recalling Jesus healing the demon-possessed man.
Dinner and overnight in Tiberius.
Day 10 - Thursday
Drive to Nazareth, passing through Cana and noting the significance of Jewish weddings and the importance in Christ’s ministry. Visit the Biblical village. Drive passed Mount Tabor, the traditional site of Jesus’ transfiguration. Go up the Mount Carmel range and visit Muhraqah where we will understand Elijah and the significance of 1 Kings 18. See one of the finest views across the Jezreel plains. Visit Caesarea by the sea, the place of Paul’s departure, and see the ancient Roman amphitheatre and ancient aqueduct.
Overnight at Hotel in Netanya.
Day 11 - Friday
Morning visit to the Neot Kedumim - the remarkable 625 acre Biblical Landscape Reserve near Tel Aviv.
We transfer to Ben Gurion airport Tel Aviv for our return flight to London Luton.

Passports, Visas and Vaccinations
Travellers are responsible for ensuring that they have a valid passport for travel to the relevant countries and that it is valid for at least 6 months after the date of travel. A visa is not required for British Passport holders visiting Israel and no inoculations are required for travel but you may wish to consult your own doctor for advice concerning this. Further Information and Paying The Balance
Further information will be sent to you regarding any action that may be required approximately 12 weeks before departure. A final invoice will also be sent at this time and the balance for the tour must be paid at least 10 weeks before departure.
Travel Information
Full travel information, including details of meeting points, flight times, accommodation and travel information, will be sent to you approximately 2 weeks before departure. Normally, tickets are not issued but are handed to you at the airport or departure point by our representative who will be there to ensure that you depart without a hitch and to deal with any last minute difficulties.

Gratuities
Our normal procedure is to deal with tips on a group basis and if these are included in the price the tour leader will distribute them to the guide, driver and hotels on your behalf. Individual tipping is not recommended unless the circumstances are exceptional.
Room Check In and Check Out Times
The standard international practice is to let rooms from midday to midday. However times do vary. Check-in times are usually between 2pm and 3pm, check-out times between 11am and 12 noon on the day of departure. Therefore, if you check-in immediately after a night flight this would normally count as one night’s accommodation. Similarly if your return flight is at night you will normally be required to vacate your room at 12 noon prior to leaving for the airport. Day rooms are subject to availability/cost and should be arranged locally with the accommodation management.
