‘Walk where Jesus walked’ on this wonderful trip of a lifetime to Israel

Led by Dr Tony & Shiela Stone

Thursday 16th - Thursday 23rd May 2019

Tony and Shiela Stone once again welcome you to join us for another ‘Trip of a lifetime’.

We never fail to enjoy the experience of ‘walking where Jesus walked’ and we would so enjoy your company in May 2019.

Come, and bring others from your family, fellowship or wherever.

The more the better.

Day 1
We depart from London Luton on our day flight to Tel Aviv. On arrival we will be transferred to our hotel in Jerusalem.

Day 2
We begin our tour in the Judean Wilderness and follow the old pathways Jesus walked on His journeys from Jerusalem to Jericho. We will visit Qumran where the dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Then we will travel to En Gedi where David fled to hide from Saul. Today it is a beautiful nature reserve, with a waterfall and pool. For those who love to swim or just cool down, a dip in the pool is worth the effort of a quick change into swimming clothes. From there we will go to the lowest spot on earth where a float in the Dead Sea can be experienced. We recommend you wear beach shoes in the water to protect your feet.
Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 3
We drive to the Mount of Olives to visit the Pater Noster Church which celebrates the Lord’s Prayer. then we walk down the Palm Sunday Road to visit Dominus Flevit, where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. From here the Old City of Jerusalem can be seen to the best advantage. We continue descending until we reach the Garden of Gethsemane and consider the final hours spent by Jesus before the cross. This is a very powerful and moving experience. After lunch we continue down the Kidron Valley and up Mount Zion, retracing Jesus’ last 24 hours. Starting at the Upper Room we then go to the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, where Peter denied the Lord three times. Here we can see the original steps that Jesus climbed from the Lower City to the House of Caiaphas the Priest.
Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 4
For our last day in Jerusalem we travel south through the Judean Hills to the town of David, Bethlehem, birthplace of Jesus the Messiah. We visit the Shepherds Fields and visit one of the projects that TSM is involved in. After lunch we will go to the Western (wailing) Wall. From there we will visit the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus healed the crippled man. We then follow the traditional journey that Jesus took to His crucifixion, we will visit the Place of the Pavement and as there is so much to see in the Old City the afternoon itinerary will be flexible. We finish the day at the Garden Tomb where we share communion in the moving and beautiful setting.
Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 5
We leave for Galilee, stopping first at Jericho which is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. A cable-car ride up to The Mount of Temptation will give a spectacular panoramic view of the area. From there we drive through the Jordan Valley to Beit She’an On our way onwards to Tiberias we will stop at Cana where Jesus turned the water into wine.
Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 6
After breakfast, we take a boat trip across the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum, the centre of Jesus’ ministry and visit the Synagogue and Simon Peter’s house. We continue to the Mount of Beatitudes, the traditional site of the Sermon on the Mount and the feeding of the 5,000. After lunch we drive to Nazareth, where we will visit the Nazareth Village and see how life was lived during the time of Jesus.
Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 7
After breakfast we leave Galilee for Mount Carmel with its panoramic views and striking statue of the prophet Elijah. On our way back from Mt Carmel we will visit the baptismal site on the River Jordan. We return early to the hotel in time to relax, shop and pack.
Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 8
After an early breakfast we leave Tiberias for the Airport and our return flight. We hope to have time to visit Joppa where Peter had his vision and Jonah sailed from. The last few hours can be spent walking around the picturesque town or having a final swim in the Mediterranean Sea before we make the short journey to the Airport for our return to London Luton.
