I am delighted to be asked by the Mothers’ Union to lead this trip to the Holy Land.

On my first visit many years ago I felt thrilled to walk along the paths that Jesus had walked. I was actually in places I’d read and sung about!

All the Biblical stories come to life - the wedding in Cana - the Sermon on the Mount - the Sea of Galilee - the Via Dolorosa - all come to life as we follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

Day 1 - Monday
Flight from London Luton to Tel Aviv. Meet on arrival and transfer to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 - Tuesday
Drive to the top of the Mount of Olives for a spectacular view over the Old City and walk down the Palm Sunday road to the Garden of Gethsemane. Enter the Old City through the Lions Gate to visit the Pools of Bethesda and the Roman Pavement, Lithostratos, the Water Cistern and Ecce Homo, leading on to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Tour the Garden Tomb and see Skull Hill and share in the Eucharist together.
Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. 

Day 3 - Wednesday
Visit the Temple Mount, the site of Moriah and Araunah’s threshing floor then enter the Jewish Quarter to visit Nehemiah’s broad wall, and the Burnt House. Walking from the Dung Gate we go down to the archaeological centre for a multimedia presentation of the history of the City of David. Walk through the Western Wall Tunnel and see the Herodian foundations of Temple Mount. Visit Bethlehem and the Shepherds’ Fields.
Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. 

Day 4 - Thursday
An early drive to Qumran, and note the importance of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Walk up through Ein Gedi National Park where David hid from King Saul, and there will be time to relax and float in the Dead Sea. After lunch in Jericho (at own expense) we travel up through the Jordan Valley to Galilee.
Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 5 - Friday
The day begins early as we sail on the Sea of Galilee - an experience not to be missed. We drive on to the nearby Mount of Beatitudes. Visit St. Peter’s Primacy / Tabgha, where the Lord Jesus met with His disciples by the shore. Continue to Capernaum where Jesus began His ministry. See the significant archaeological remains there.
Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 6 - Saturday
We drive to Tel Dan Nature Reserve, walking through the park to the ancient gate of Tel Dan. Visit Caesarea Philippi (Banyas). We have lunch (at own expense) before returning to Tiberias via the Golan Heights, stopping at Mount Bental to see the superb views.
Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 7 - Sunday
We leave Tiberias and visit the Nazareth Village, depicting life as in the times of Jesus as we make our way to Ben Gurion airport for our return flight.

Passports, Visas and Vaccinations
Travellers are responsible for ensuring that they have a valid passport for travel to the relevant countries and that it is valid for at least 6 months after the date of travel. A visa is not required for British Passport holders visiting Israel. At the time this brochure went to press no vaccinations or inoculations are required for travel but you may wish to consult your own doctor for advice concerning this. If you have any queries regarding the above, we will be happy to help.

Further Information And Paying The Balance
Further information will be sent to you regarding any action that may be required approximately 10 weeks before departure. A final invoice will also be sent at this time and the balance for the tour must be paid at least 8 weeks before departure.

Travel Information
Full travel information, including details of meeting points, flight times, accommodation and travel information, will be sent to you approximately 2 weeks before departure. Normally, tickets are not issued but are handed to you at the airport or departure point by our representative who will be there to ensure that you depart without a hitch and to deal with any last minute difficulties.

Travel Insurance

Gratuities
Our normal procedure is to deal with tips on a group basis and these are included in the price. The tour leader will distribute them to the guide, driver and hotels on your behalf. Individual tipping is not recommended unless the circumstances are exceptional.

Room Check In and Check Out Times
The standard international practice is to let rooms from midday to midday. However times do vary. Check-in times are usually between 2pm and 3pm, check-out times between 11am and 12 noon on the day of departure. Therefore, if you check-in immediately after a night flight this would normally count as one night’s accommodation. Similarly if your return flight is at night you will normally be required to vacate your room at 12 noon prior to leaving for the airport. Day rooms are subject to availability/cost and should be arranged locally with the accommodation management.
