A biblical tour of Israel

Led by Damian and Sandra Luke

Monday 30th May - Monday 6th June 2022

Damian and Sandra Luke are pleased to be leading another ‘special’ tour to walk on the Land where Jesus, the Patriarchs and the Apostles all lived in and ministered from.

The journey is always faith enriching and opens up the truth and reality of the Bible in so many ways that allow you to connect your faith to the land and culture where these events took place.

There will be opportunities for prayer, reflection, service and time for ‘team reflection’ every day of the trip. We are expecting God to speak to individuals on this trip and for the team to also have some fun!

Day 1
Depart from London Gatwick on our flight to Tel Aviv. On arrival you will be met and transferred to our hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 2
Early morning start.
Visit the Archaeological Park in Beersheba to look into life in the times of the patriarchs. Visit Abrahams Well, where Abraham the Father of the Israelites dug a well as part of his covenant with King Abimelech. It was also the place where both Isaac and his son Jacob lived.
Lunch in Beersheba and then drive East through the biblical wilderness and spend a short time experiencing the peace and solitude of this amazing landscape. Then, travelling on to the city of Arad we see the Fountain of Tears, a sculpture display that parallels the suffering of Christ with the Jewish holocaust.
Dinner and overnight stay in Jerusalem.

Day 3
We visit the Old City of Jerusalem, beginning on the Mount of Olives then walking down to the Garden of Gethsemane where we pause for reflection. Enter the Old City. meandering through the market streets and delving into places familiar to Jesus and his disciples.
We visit David’s City; walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel (constructed in the 8th century BCE to ensure a safe water supply); and see the recently uncovered Pool of Siloam, and Bethesda Pool.
Dinner and overnight stay in Jerusalem.
Day 4
We move on to see the Western WalI, the Archaeological Garden Excavations (remains from the time of the second Temple), and the Western Wall tunnels. Our time in Jerusalem will culminate with Communion at the Garden Tomb.
Free afternoon to shop for souvenirs followed by dinner at our hotel.
Overnight stay in Jerusalem.

Day 5
Today we have an early start visiting Ein Karem then leave Jerusalem past the Inn of the Good Samaritan and to Jericho where we take the gondolas to the Mount of Temptation. We visit the baptismal site near Jericho before having the opportunity to bathe in the Dead Sea.
Stay in the Dead Sea hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6
On the way to Tiberias, we visit Nazareth Village depicting life as in the time of Jesus and then to Cana  where people can renew their marriage vows if they want to.
In the afternoon visit the Church of the Annunciation and Mount Tabor, which we ascend and descend by taxis.
Dinner and overnight stay in Tiberias.
Day 7
In the morning we take a boat ride on the Lake of Galilee, including a short service. We then visit Capernaum, the home town of Jesus, St Peter’s Primacy, Tabgha associated with the feeding of the 5000, the Mount of the Beatitudes, commemorating the Sermon on the Mount.

“The trip to the Holy Land was an exciting time of learning, travelling and fellowship. The tour guide exceeded expectations and gave new insights in to the Word of God, which was made a lot clearer when we understood more of our Jewish roots. The Bible seems more relevant now and it’s becoming more important for me to watch Israel; the time clock of the world.”
