Visit the ancient and vibrant city of Jerusalem, tracing the footsteps of Jesus. Travel back 3000 years to the City of David and the times of the Biblical Kings. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane, Golgotha and Caiaphas’ house. Stand on the ruins of Jericho and scale the heights of Fortress Masada.

Relax at the waterfront Ron Beach Hotel, sail on lake Galilee and visit Capernaum, Korazin and Bethsaida among many others.

Your tour guides will be Ian & Jacky Cooper. Ian is a Pastor and member of Day One Christian Ministries, a tour guide to the Biblical artefacts in the British Museum and Israel and author of ‘Travel with the Pilgrim fathers’.

Day 1 (Weds 15th)
Heathrow to Tel Aviv
Dinner & overnight in Jerusalem’s Grand Court Hotel

Day 2 (Thurs 16th)
Drive to the top of the Mount of Olives and walk the ‘Palm Sunday’ route, including Dominus Flevit (Jesus weeping over Jerusalem) and the Garden of Gethsemane.
Visit the Temple Mount area
In Jerusalem, walk through the Western Wall Tunnel coming out onto the Via Dolorosa to the Lion Gate
Visit the Pools of Bethesda, the Roman Pavement / Lithostratos, Herod’s Cistern.
Visit the Garden Tomb and share in Communion.
Overnight in Jerusalem’s Grand Court Hotel.

Day 3 (Fri 17th)
Visit the Shrine of the Book Museum
Visit the Jewish Quarter, Nehemiah’s broad wall, the Burnt House.
Walk through the Dung Gate to the ‘City of David’ archaeological centre.
Wade through Hezekiah’s Tunnel (appropriately prepared with torches and water shoes) to the Pool of Siloam (A dry Canaanite tunnel option is available for those not so adventurous!)
St Peter in Gallicantu (Peter’s denial of Jesus).
Visit Caiaphas’ House
Abraham’s Ridge overlooking the city and the Hinnom Valley.
Overnight in Jerusalem’s Grand Court Hotel.

Day 4 (Sat 18th)
Drive south through the Judean Hills to visit the fortress of Masada on the Dead Sea plain – the Jewish last stand against the Romans AD 70. Visit Qumran – understand the biblical significance of the Dead Sea Scrolls and En Gedi National Park to see the waterfalls.
After lunch there will be an opportunity to float in the world’s lowest sea, 423m below sea level.
Overnight in Jerusalem’s Grand Court Hotel.

Day 5 (Sun 19th)
Morning Service at the Hotel. Rest of the morning free.
Afternoon – optional walk through the city to Christ Church, Jaffa Gate and Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Evening service.
Overnight in Jerusalem’s Grand Court Hotel.

Day 6 (Mon 20th)
Drive up through the Jordan Valley, stopping at the ancient city of Jericho and explore the extensive archaeological remains there. En route to Galilee, visit the site of Jesus’ baptism, Gideon’s spring at the foot of Mount Gilboa and explore the extensive ruins at Beth Shean (1 Samuel 31)
Arrive at Ron Beach Hotel in Tiberius

Day 7 (Tues 21st)
Sail on the Sea of Galilee.
Visit Nof Ginossar – the Galilee Boat exhibition.
Tour the ‘gospel triangle’ of Capernaum-Korazin-Bethsaida.
Visit the significant archaeological remains of the city of Capernaum.
St Peter’s Primacy / Tabgha (the restoration of Peter by Jesus).
Afternoon relaxation at Hotel (pool and lakeside).
Overnight in Ron Beach Hotel, Tiberius

Day 8 (Weds 22nd)
Tel Dan Nature Reserve – walk to Tel Dan through the beautiful Dan National Park.
See Mount Hermon in the distance.
Visit Jeroboam’s idolatrous altar.
Caesarea Philippi (Banyas) – see the “Gates of Hell”.
Afternoon relaxing at Hotel (pool and lakeside)
Overnight at Ron Beach Hotel, Tiberius

Day 9 (Thurs 23rd)
Drive to Nazareth, visit the Biblical village and the Synagogue Church.
Drive to Mount Carmel & Muhraqah – where Elijah demonstrated God’s power against the prophets of Baal. See the stunning views across the Jezreel plains.
Visit Caesarea by the sea, the place of Paul’s departure, the ancient Roman amphitheatre and aqueduct.
Return flight Tel Aviv – Heathrow.

Passports, Visas and Vaccinations
Travellers are responsible for ensuring that they have a valid passport for travel to the relevant countries and that it is valid for at least 6 months after the date of travel. A visa is not required for British Passport holders visiting Israel. At the time this brochure went to press no vaccinations or inoculations are required for travel but you may wish to consult your own doctor for advice concerning this. Further Information And Paying The Balance
Further information will be sent to you regarding any action that may be required approximately 10 weeks before departure. A final invoice will also be sent at this time and the balance for the tour must be paid at least 8 weeks before departure.

Travel Information
Full travel information, including details of meeting points, flight times, accommodation and travel information, will be sent to you approximately 2 weeks before departure. Normally, tickets are not issued but are handed to you at the airport or departure point by our representative who will be there to ensure that you depart without a hitch and to deal with any last minute difficulties.

Travel Insurance
It is compulsory to have travel insurance for your booking. Holiday Extras have a range of policies available at very competitive prices. You can obtain a quote online by clicking here or alternatively you can call 0871 360 2742 and quote ABTA number 93522.

Gratuities
Our normal procedure is to deal with tips on a group basis and these are included in the price. The tour leader will distribute them to the guide, driver and hotels on your behalf. Individual tipping is not recommended unless the circumstances are exceptional.

Room Check In and Check Out Times
The standard international practice is to let rooms from midday to midday. However times do vary. Check-in times are usually between 2pm and 3pm, check-out times between 11am and 12 noon on the day of departure. Therefore, if you check-in immediately after a night flight this would normally count as one night’s accommodation. Similarly if your return flight is at night you will normally be required to vacate your room at 12 noon prior to leaving for the airport. Day rooms are subject to availability/cost and should be arranged locally with the accommodation management.
