Seven Churches of Asia & Istanbul

Led by Revd Andrew Corke & Canon Chris Tebbutt

Monday 15th - Friday 26th May 2023

Join us for this exceptional Study Tour visiting the Seven Churches of Asia and the Island of Patmos where John wrote down his vision in Revelation. Not only will we be delving into biblical history and visiting all the church sites named in those early chapters of Revelation, we will also be marvelling at beautiful scenery, enjoying glorious weather and sharing great company. As those who’ve travelled with us before will know, a key part of the trip will be to dig deep into God’s word to see what he has to say to each one of us.

Our tour finishes at the astonishing city of Istanbul where East meets West - so please join us for a Study Tour and holiday you’ll never forget.

Andrew Corke and Chris Tebbutt

Visit of (Pergamum), one of the most impressive classical sites in Turkey, a city which once rivalled Alexandria and Antioch as a centre for the arts and sciences. Drive back to Dikili (20 km) for dinner and overnight.

Day 4
In the morning, we travel to Akhisar (Thyatira) with its remains of a Basilica. Then proceed to Sart (Sardis), the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Lydia set in the crumbling mountains. We view the Temple of Artemis, with the largest Ionic columns in the Greek world, Lydian houses, a Byzantine church and a reconstructed synagogue. Continue to Alasehir (Philadelphia), with its numerous remains of early Christian churches. Then to Pamukkale, one of the most spectacular natural wonders of Turkey. There will be opportunity to bathe in the thermal spring waters that have carved a dazzling white petrified cascade of basins, cataracts and stalactites.
